Human Life Stages

Human beings develop through periods of life that can be classified as stages.

These stages determine physical, emotional, and psychological characteristics for each aspect of life.

Stage 1:   Childhood

Children´s bodies and brains grow and develop during their childhood.  They grow taller, heavier, and smarter.  They learn how to get along with other people, become good at sports or dance, and learn how to do well in school.

Stage 2:  Puberty and Adolescence.

Puberty is a time when a child´s body changes into an adult´s body.  It is a time of transition.  During puberty, you may feel different because your body is changing. But it is a perfectly normal part of gettint to know your new self.  Puberty occurs during adolescence.

Stage 3: Adulthood

Once you have finished growing and changing, you become an adult.  Adults still grow and change, but the changes are less obvious. During adulthood, adults also become independent.

Stage 4: Old Age

As you grow older, you continue to change. Your hair might turn gray, you may have wrinkles or you may not be able to be as active as you once were.

Sometimes older people get illnesses from which they cannot recover.
