🔸 PART 1: ASKING THE TIME

¿Cómo preguntar la hora?

Could you tell me the time, please?	¿Podrías decirme la hora, por favor?
What’s the time, please?	¿Qué hora es, por favor?

❌ "Do you know what time is it?" is not correct in English.

✅ The correct form is:               "Do you know what time it is?"

Why?

This is an indirect question. In indirect questions, the word order follows a statement format (subject + verb), not a question format.

🔸 PART 2: TELLING THE TIME

¿Cómo decir la hora en inglés?

✅ The Basics

1. Use "It's" + time
   Ej: It’s three o’clock. → Son las tres en punto.

✅ Hours and Minutes

• It's [minute] past [hour] → Es [minuto] después de las [hora]

  • It’s ten past three. → Son las 3:10.

• It's [minute] to [next hour] → Faltan [minutos] para las [siguiente hora]

  • It’s twenty to five. → Son las 4:40.

• Half past = Y media

  • It’s half past two. → Son las 2:30.

• Quarter past = Y cuarto

  • It’s quarter past six. → Son las 6:15.

• Quarter to = Un cuarto para las

  • It’s quarter to nine. → Son las 8:45.

🕰️ O’CLOCK

Use o’clock only for full hours.

• It’s one o’clock. → Es la una en punto.
